Barry is a native New Yorker and a graduate of the Cornish Institute in Seattle. For 20 years she has integrated her background as an artist and painter into her work as a landscape designer.

Her work has garnered her a Water Conservancy Award and recognition in numerous publications.

She joined forces with Nicholas Walker in 1998
